=Rewatching "Head of The Class" on weekend nights. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head_of_the_Class
it must have been on on either friday or Saturday when I was a kid, too, because I watched it staying over at my childhood BFF's house, too. (She had a mom that totally worried about "screen time" and the values we got from TV, etc. I think my mom was happy that we watched that show over, like, nighttime soap opera, and both of our moms would have been totally comfortable having a parent-teacher conference with Howard Hesseman's teacher.
Mom wasn't *especially* worried about what I watched or read, though. If I spent too much on TV, she'd be like, "Surely you have something better to do," Which, as a minor in a wheelchair with no money, was often hard to find pre-internet.
-If I could vaguebook God about last night, I'd say "Universe, that was mean."

Maybe I would have had Jake and Caroline get in a bigger fight at the dance. Maybe in addition to "Plenty of guys would kill to love me,"(which, somebody thinks a lot of herself) Maybe she could be like "The next guy that comes through here, I'll leave with!"

introduced by one of my imaginary husbands, Ben from TCM.

In other news, I hate summer, and wish I had more to say.
But I'm feeling a bit more hale physically

Because I needed to feel nostalgic, reflected solidarity, and breathtaking personal inadequacy.
(I guess everyone doesn't get to be a foremother, though.)
The camp I went to wasn't fun, much less a laboratory of democracy.

I think I would trade my life for the equivalent in magic beans.
But it felt pretty great yesterday to be tucked up in bed for what could have been read as a double feature of "The Apartment" and "Crossing Delancey" as part of TCM's "Love Stories in New York" last night.

Nothing earth-shattering; just a rare moment where I wouldn't want to be other than me, so I thought I'd log it, if nothing else than as a counterpoint to my endless mental podcast that I could title "My God, I Cheated Death For This?!"(But if anyone was that interested, it might not be like that. You know?)

This is still the cartoon I'm most like(Maybe a touch of Tina Belcher for fanfiction and perviness)

"And then you said 'why do they call it a check, why not a yugoslavian?"
I laughed, Chandler.
chicating: Johnny Drama (Victory)
For a character in such an actiony show(and one who tends to get stiffed financially and/or clopped on the head), Jim likes his life. He likes tacos and spending time with his dad...maybe being in prison or in the Army gave him perspective on the small stuff, but thankfully he's not the guy to really tell you that, either.

and it made me wonder what it would have been like, in my crossover, if Kay from Homicide had met Angel.
The longer story wouldn't have worked, because she was searching for someone and Cordelia, Wesley, and Gunn needed someone to help, but I found myself picturing a cameo, like this.
KAY(slightly buzzed)
Jesus, kid, the face on you...it's not that serious. Who died?
ANGEL(brooding, natch)
How much time have you got?
chicating: life-affirming Homicide quote (lifeaffirming)
but on this rewatch I saw an eerie parallel between April the robot and Joyce(Although I can't help wishing that Joyce suffered less.)
Not sure I have it in me to watch "The Body" tonight, brilliant as it really is. Personally, it was harder to watch the first time I saw it...Mom was being treated for breast cancer then, and attendants don't come with a line of succession--still something of a concern, but, look, pyramids.
