What if I'm really a leader?

Or at least a persuader? If I took that as truth(and gave up the view of myself as a little crippled nobody who did a little reading on her own) is there still time to create a life that feels less like...I don't know, work release? I'd like to think so, but disabled 49 doesn't really feel like possibility.
